Art Conservation
2021-2023

Art conservation is a field that many get confused with art restoration. They sound similar but they are quite different in many regards. Art conservation is the practice of preserving and preventing damage. Unlike restoration, art conservation uses minimal materials on the original piece and is completely reversible.

During my time in art conservation, I built custom frames, mounts, and displays for clients while making necessary repairs to the object based on the client's needs. I also worked on all sorts of objects, like paintings that were in a fire, 18th century kimonos, and even a Picasso.

The right side of the screen is dirty with soot from a house fire and the other half is clean, after some conservation efforts.
